Overview
PannonRex is a Budapest, Hungary based, privately held company established in 1994. We do software development and consulting for our international clients. Our partners include both small and large companies and non-profit organizations as well. Our applications and services are used by companies like Borland, HP Europe, Würth, Royal Ahold, DAF Trucks/PACCAR, DataCAD, Bellerive Consulting, GSCF, Webroot, Menai, DealersSyndicate, Alcatel Bell, EMC Corporation, RACAL Instruments, and others. Our highly skilled and motivated software specialists have several years of experience in software development. We continually monitor and evaluate new technologies to make sure we present the most suitable solution strategy for our clients’ problems. We are eager and have the capacity to understand the problem domain. This guarantees that we deliver well-engineered solutions.
We put great emphasis on the user interface since user centered design, ease-of-use, efficient usage and user satisfaction are very important considerations among today’s demanding users.
We have very competitive rates and our comprehension of the problem domain, clear design, and experience will eliminate the unknowns in the development phase, making sure that we meet our deadlines and deliver a solution that is within our clients’ budget.
We are committing considerable resources to further enhancing our service quality and spending over 10% on research and development on internal projects each year.
Since 1995 we have concluded most of our services through telecommuting from our Budapest, Hungary office, with occasional visits to our client’s premises, as needed. This arrangement made it possible to be very cost effective for our client, and be very flexible during peaks of load at the same time. Since we are incorporated, working with us is very simple for our partners: we issue invoices as agreed to (monthly, at milestones, etc.) – there are no problems and costs associated with visas, work permits, systems setup, employee administration, etc.
Project Management
We are committed to continually enhancing our project management capabilities. In recent years all of our developers have participated in project management seminars.
- Our project management methodology is based on best practices derived from the Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF), Scrum and other sources and tailored to the needs of our projects.
- For communication we use Skype, phone conferences, videoconferencing, IM tools, email, etc.
- We have over 10 years of experience in co-operating with partners in North America, Europe and Australia in a telecommuting setup.
CEO Background
Peter Illes (Illés Péter in Hungarian) is the chief executive officer of the company.
He has graduated with an MSc from the Technical University of Budapest in 1991 in Informatics (then a part of Electrical Engineering) with some studies carried out at the Queen’s University Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK.
He has been awarded with the golden medal Pro Scientia founded by the Ministry of Education, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the National Scientific Student’s Council; three times 1st, one time 2nd, and two times 3rd prize on various National and University Conferences and Competitions; the scholarship of the Hungarian Republic, and the scholarship ‘For the Hungarian Technology Progress’ of the Hungarian Credit Bank.
He is a member of the John von Neumann Society for Computer Science and the ACM.
He has been involved with the project and creative management, planning, analysis, and actual development of award-winning consumer and custom products since the early nineties.
